About Me
In my introduction post, I wrote a short post about various types of strength and what this sub-stack is about. In this post, I will give a short introduction of myself.
I am an accountant for the government by day and I have also worked in both public and private accounting settings. Prior to entering the accounting field, I worked in law enforcement for several year but found myself in need of a more analytically challenging career. I have spent close to 10 years working in some form of an accounting role.
Outside of work, I am a strength training hobbyist/enthusiast. I have been involved in some sort of exercise program for about 2 decades (I started at about the age of 14). The first decade or so was focused on the “beach muscles” because every body needs a pecs and a six pack right? I even followed a CrossFit page for my workouts for awhile. My focus for the last eight years has been barbell strength training. I have found great satisfaction in barbell training compared to my prior training modalities and is partially the inspiration to start posting here.
Other than my career and hobby, I am also a husband and father. Without a doubt I find being a husband and father the most meaningful, rewarding, challenging, and exciting part of my life. My wife and I are parents to two boys who are about ten years apart. I love sharing my life with my family.
These facets of my life motivated me to start the Strong Life sub-stack, which will focus on applying strength training principles to personal finance, personal health, and personal relationships.
